The Clutch is the Reliquaries idea taken at its most literal: a pod broken open to show what it was carrying, and what it was carrying is stone. Veined turquoise eggs sit in fibre that behaves exactly like down — every instinct of a nest, and nothing in it that was ever alive.
Process
Held at macro range so the husk's dust and the stones' polish share one plane of focus; the fibre was left soft so the turquoise reads as the only solid thing in the picture.
