The Orb is the Reliquaries idea built in metal rather than grown — a banded brass cage clasping a great smoky quartz, studded with opal and garnet, rising from a rough malachite-veined block. A vessel made deliberately, for keeping.

Process

Metal, stone and cabochons were composed as separate studies, then assembled and relit so the brass reads as one continuous cage.
