Homeland carries a place on the skin: an African savanna at dusk — a lone acacia, banded sunset light — painted across a serene face with eyes closed. Belonging, worn openly.
Process
The savanna was painted as its own landscape first, then laid over the portrait and pushed until light on skin and light in the scene agreed.
